Dr Jones, co-founder of Georgian Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy, is a displaced Nova Scotian, she and her family moved to the Midland area after completing residency at the University of Western Ontario where she developed a passion for Emergency and Sport Medicine. She continues to provide Emergency Department coverage at Georgian Bay General Hospital as well as act as the lead physician at Georgian Sport Medicine and Physiotherapy. She is an avid tennis player and enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle. She has 4 children, 3 of whom are national level athletes in their own right. The 4th is soon to follow!
Dr Jones is the team physician for Hockey Canada U-18 National Women’s program, the National Ball Hockey Association senior and Junior Program, Penetang Kings Junior C hockey team, Penetang Minor Hockey Association and multiple local sporting organizations. She has provided event coverage for PanAm Games, World championships and many local events. She is a member of CASEM and enjoys teaching sport medicine and emergency medicine residents in her practice.
Dr Jones takes pride in looking at each individual as an athlete with unique needs and goals. She uses advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment including musculoskeletal ultrasound and has a particular interest in ultrasound guided interventions and injections with cortisone, PRP and hyaluronic acid.
